Whatever the Weather

Come rain or shine, we want to make sure your awnings maintain their quality for as long as possible. Check the manufacturer’s information provided with your awnings to ensure you are applying the right cleaning and maintenance techniques depending on the style of your product. Canopy awnings, the most popular awnings we supply for shading small windows, are incredibly stable in strong winds and are easy to take down for winter storage. Folding arm awnings are primarily used to provide shade and block out UV rays, so make sure these the awnings are retracted in strong winds and heavy rain.

Fabulous Fabrics

We have awnings available in lots of delightful fabrics. Check the instructions to see whether a wet or dry clean is recommended but always make sure you avoid water with any of the mechanisms. Dry sweeping with a brush or cloth to remove leaves and twigs may be all that is required. High technology fabrics such as Soltis and Perluca are water and dirt repellent. If the fabric does get a bit wet, give it a chance to dry before rolling it up.

Roll on Summer

Hopefully you won’t need to retract your awnings often in the months to come as you’ll be enjoying their shade all summer long. As well as ensuring you do retract your awnings during inclement weather, if this has been previously advised, make certain you remove any debris before rolling up the awnings. Nowadays many awnings are electrically operated, if you do have a manual operation take care to rotate this gently.
