Installation: Revamp for Ocean Spray Hotel and Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

When you have a prestige business like the Ocean Spray hotel on the Marine Parade in Great Yarmouth, it has to look the part. All that salt spray and sun had taken its toll on the four dutch awnings adorning the front of the historic building, so owner Matt called in Cooks Blinds and Shutters Ltd for a full refurb. While we were there, he also had us install a large folding arm awning that will give guests and al fresco diners a little respite from the hot summer sun.

Weinor Opal Folding Arm Awning

This was a big one. An awning to match the building’s grandeur. The Weinor Opal Folding Arm Awning measured 4900mm wide and when unfurled has a projection of 3000mm. The awning stretches over the terrace at the front of Café Ocean – the part of the main hotel and restaurant that sells light bites and drinks to thirsty holidaymakers.

Recovering and Sign Writing

As part of the exterior revamp, Matt asked us to recover the four Dutch Awnings that adorn the doorways of the Ocean Spray Hotel and Restaurant. Dutch awnings are a traditional design that provide effective solar shading and character to commercial premises. At Cooks Blinds and Shutters Ltd, we also offer a bespoke sign writing service. The Ocean Spray Hotel and Restaurant opted for crisp white lettering on a sturdy black material.
