Folding Partition Walls for Flexible Workspaces

The modern workplace has never been so flexible, hotdesking, break out zones and flexitime are all concepts we encounter on a regular basis and have replaced the outdated notion of ‘cubicle’ offices. Open plan workspaces and multi use meeting rooms are increasingly common, but by their very nature these areas require temporary or adaptable boundaries. A folding partition or moveable wall is a practical and stylish way to easily adapt workspaces to open up or close off areas. 

Types of Folding Partitions

There are three types of folding walls, end & centre, concertina and fabric. End & centre partitions are individual panels that are hung on a track attached to the floor or ceiling and can be rolled into position or neatly tidied away. When in use, end & centre partitions give the appearance of a solid wall but individual panels can be angled to enable ‘doorways’ through the wall. 

Concertina walls are a popular choice for busy areas, quick and easy to put into place they can offer a simple solution for any location and can be used by anyone. Modular designs allow for connecting walls which can be used to divide larger spaces in different configurations, while still folding away into a small and tidy stack. 

Fabric folding partitions are the most flexible choice. Available in a huge range of colours, fabrics and with special finishes including fire retardant. Fabric partitions can be hung on curved or straight tracks, include window panels, door handles and even locks.
