Install Solar Shading to Reduce Reliance on Air Conditioning
14/03/2017During the summer, you want your retail outlet to be as invitingly cool as possible. This will encourage passers-by to linger and hopefully increase sales. Air conditioning is one solution, but it is expensive to run and produces a lot of emissions. Solar shades are an effective way of cooling your property thus reducing your reliance on air conditioning.
Glass Fronted Shops
A glass shop front with large windows is a great way to advertise your wares and show that you are open for business. However, if strong sunlight is streaming in, your shop can quickly become overheated. Installing Shade Sails, Brise Soleil or External Venetian blinds will limit the amount of warming sunlight entering your premises.
Reduce Air Conditioning Costs
Air conditioning is often a necessary expense in shops. 40% of the UK’s air conditioning energy use comes from retail outlets trying to keep their customers cool. Installing solar shading could significantly reduce the amount of time that you have your air conditioning system running.
Three Types of Solar Shade
- Shade Sails. Perhaps the simplest of the three solar shades we offer, these sheets of reinforced polyester fabric are stretched taut between wall-mounted brackets and steel or timber posts.
- Brise Soleil. These ellipsoid aluminium blades are angled according to the position and elevation of your property. They can be painted to match your branding.
- External Venetians. Versatile venetian blinds fit to the outside of your window and each slat can be controlled individually or as part of a group. We recommend these for buildings of high elevation where sunlight can come streaming in when the sun is low on the horizon.
